New CD and a trip to New York

February 2006

The New CD is finally out - and we will be launching it in New York on March 14th during our North American tour.  We're going over for 3 weeks - from Chicago to Boston to New York and Washington to San Diego, North California and finishing in Seattle for my birthday!  I'm the Year of the Dog so you can work that one out for yourselves.

I've been quiet here in Dublin, going to the Howth and Goilin singers clubs.  The Howth Singers Club celebrated Rabbie Burns with a great night in the Anglers Club - Haggis, neaps (Turnips) and Tatties, (Potatoes) as well as sandwiches etc. were on the menu - piped in by the Howth Pipers Band - who were even better than last year if that is possible.  The surprise of the night was the wonderful Mummers group from the Naul, who royally entertained us with 400 year old stories - a real treat.  The normal February club was fun, with the theme being open, so we could sing anything.

In the Goilin, the guest last week was Donal Maguire - a seriously wonderful singer with great songs.  The standard was very high as usual and Lá le Bride was celebrated as well as Rabbie Burns.  As always a great night.
